The Director Meeting of the National Office on the Fight against IPR Infringement and Counterfeiting was held in Beijing on January, 14th.The meeting summarized the achievements gained in the fight against IPR infringement and counterfeiting in 2019 and deployed the major tasks of 2020. Gan Lin, Director of the Office of National Leading Group on the Fight against IPR Infringement and Counterfeiting(“the National Leading Group) and Deputy Head of State Administration for Market Regulation, attended the meeting and delivered remarks.
In 2019, the CPC Central Committee and the State Council paid close heed to the fight against IPR infringement and counterfeiting, and made a series of major policies and plans. The National Leading Group enhanced the balance and coordination of an effective work landscape. Departments at all levels innovated their ways of reform and spared no efforts on implementation, thus the system of laws and regulations was improved, the crackdown on key areas was promoted, the public awareness was intensified, the international cooperation was deepened, the landscape of co-governance was effectively constructed and positive progress was made in the fight against IPR infringement and counterfeiting across the country.
It was emphasized at the meeting that the year 2020 was the last year of building a moderately prosperous society in all respects and the 13th Five-Year Plan. It was also the year to enhance efforts on combating IPR infringement and counterfeiting. All the departments should fight against IPR infringement and counterfeiting offline and online in the rural and urban areas, in the course of production and consumption and in the chain of import and export, thus making new progress in this regard.
The current domestic and international environment of the combat against IPR infringement and counterfeiting was analyzed in the meeting. Suggestions from different departments were also heard and discussed. Officials of the member units of the leading group from Hebei, Shanghai, Zhejiang, Hubei, Guangdong and Chongqing exchanged their experience.
